Dehumidifiers

Dehumidifiers lower the humidity around them. They draw water out of the air, which helps prevent condensation and therefore mould. At Dihl, we make use of two dehumidifying technologies: desiccants and thermoelectric cooling. This makes our dehumidifiers convenient and easy to use, and great for light-duty applications.

Humidity

The air around us naturally contains water, the measure of which we call humidity. The enclosed environments of our homes can experience increased humidity levels due to showers, baths, laundry, cooking, and even our own bodies as we breathe and perspire.

Condensation

Condensation forms when air containing moisture comes into contact with a surface colder than itself. The temperature at which this happens is known as the dew point, and this varies with the relative humidity of the air.

Mould

Moulds help the environment by breaking down dead organic matter, but they are not good for our health. They reproduce via tiny spores that float through the air, and only grow on surfaces that are wet or damp. If you have mould, you have a moisture problem. The good news is that this can be fixed.
